Asbestos still in an estimated 1.5 million buildings in the UK

Asbestos may have been banned in the United Kingdom 20 years ago, but continues to be the main cause of occupational death; leading to up to 5,500 fatalities in the U.K. last year.

According to a recent report, an estimated six million tons of asbestos remains inside 1.5 million buildings in the U.K., including schools and hospitals.
